Supporting the Kid's cubing journey so far ? She was curious about my Pyraminx, so we we ordered a couple of 3x3 cubes and a 2x2. We printed out the 2x2 tutorial and helped her learn the notation. That's how she got the hang of doing algorithms. RUR' U' Eventually she wanted to try the 3×3. We actually started in the middle. She just wanted to do the fish algorithm again and again, so I set them for her. One time we did more than a hundred in a row. fro Vit UP RUR'UR U2 R' Then she wanted to be able to solve the whole thing by herself. So we showed her how to make the daisy and ир the centres. She loved using Match the four-move sequence (RUR' U') to move corners down, and just repeated it until the corners ended up the right way. 2x2: quick gratification, same algorithms can be used on the 3x3. She quickly learned to do the 2x2 all by herself. and was very proud. When she learned a U perm and how to position the cube for the fish algorithm, she started snatching partially-solved cubes out of our hands. "The fish eats out → of left your hand! 2 It helped to have 2 or 3 cubes, so we could just keep Swapping Cubes. It helped that both W- and I were learning (cubing and (patience) We helped her learn how to put the middle edges in, and 4-look last layer. ↓ a new She's working on F2L now, and some PLLs. She's proud of her times and often challenges us. She still asks me about clockwise and counterclockwise when she's learning algorithm, so animations make it easier for her to learn. We're thinking about getting a smart cube (maybe the Gan (3) so she can get quick feedback when learning, if she wants. Fun!
